Brett Tomko pitched a 2 hitter as the Tombstone Huckleberries defeated the Dyersville Jurassics by the score of 4 to 1 at the ballpark. Tomko(5-5) looked very much in control throughout the day. He gave up just 2 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA from 4.64 to 4.26. Dyersville was set down quietly in the bottom of the 9th. Jason Schmidt(8-4) was given the loss. He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game. When questioned about his counterpart after the game, Schmidt was lavish in his praise, 'It was obvious very early on that we were going to be in for a long night. Tomko brought his 'A' game with him - he had good stuff and was able to spot it perfectly. He probably only made one or two bad pitches the entire game!
